Watercolor Dinosaurs

In this activity, we dove into the colorful world of art with a guided drawing activity that brought dinosaurs to life on paper! Each child grabbed a marker and followed multi-step instructions to sketch out their own unique dinosaur. Once the outlines were drawn, we switched gears to watercolors, filling their creations with vibrant hues. Guided drawing with multiple steps helped improve the children’s ability to listen and follow directions carefully, enhancing their auditory processing skills. The use of markers for drawing required a steady hand and attention to detail, which is important for developing fine motor skills. Switching to watercolors introduced them to a new medium, encouraging flexibility and experimentation with color blending and effects. Integrating drawing and painting into our curriculum nurtures creativity, boosts confidence, and provides a foundation for both cognitive and motor skill development in preschoolers.
