Amy Williams, MS, OTR/L

Hi there! I am a pediatric occupational therapist originally from Baltimore, Maryland. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at The Pennsylvania State University and my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Husson University in Bangor, Maine. I’m passionate about working with neurodivergent populations and practicing neurodiversity- affirming approaches. My experience comes from a wide variety of settings including, but not limited to, outpatient sensory integration clinics, summer camps for children with life-threatening diagnoses, private schools dedicated to neurodivergent learning, and pediatric hospitals. I’m also passionate about working in Early Intervention (0-3 years old) to support developmental milestones. I obtained my NASM Personal Training Certification in 2021 and am a self-proclaimed yogi at heart, reinforcing my own belief that movement is foundational to physical and mental wellbeing across the lifespan. As a clinician, I presume competence and strive to be an advocate and a reliable support system for individuals and families I serve to reach their personal goals and thrive in daily activities.

Personal hobbies: yoga, hiking, painting, reading and listening to audiobooks, trying new workout classes, skiing, watching the Baltimore Ravens, and camping. I love to be outside in the sunshine or doing anything creative or active!

OT Passions &; expertise areas to support you in: early intervention, sensory integration, self-regulation, non-speaking or unreliably speaking community, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), neurodiversity-affirming care, yoga & mindfulness/meditation, pediatric wheelchair & power chair systems, advocacy and parent empowerment.

— Teacher Testimonials —

“Occupational therapy has been amazing for understanding where children are and why they might do certain things. I have learned so much about behaviors that used to perplex me, like why some children suddenly fly out of their seat and crash to the floor while eating lunch. Or why a child seeks wrestling, pushing or dog piling with friends. I had never even heard of the proprioceptive sense!”

“The Occupational Therapist was able to help me look at the child’s behavior from a different outside lens and offer numerous tips, tricks, and solutions to help. She also is great at keeping open communication between parents, teachers, admin so everyone remains on the same page and can work as a team towards a successful solution. “
