The amphitheater is located off the soccer field and is the perfect size for hosting family events. Whether it be holiday performances, family-class activities, meetings, or preschool graduation, this shaded area allows adults and children alike to come together for special moments.
The Studio is nestled up in the corner of The Glenn right next to The Nature Lab. This outdoor educational environment is magical and a very special place for the children at Carmel Mountain Preschool.
The children explore a variety of materials ranging from recycled to natural objects.
The big block deck is a specialty deck that sits between the grass slide and the amphitheater. It is home to hundreds of large foam blocks that allow children to use their imaginations to construct towers, create forts, build buses and trains, and provides hours of big movement fun.
Born in April 2024, Marshmallow and Stormy, our Holland Lop bunnies, came to us at only eight weeks old weighing barely a pound.
Two important life skills for preschool children to learn are empathy and caring for others. One of the ways that young children can learn these important skills is by caring for plants and animals. Our preschool students love to learn how a chick grows from an embryo and watch the chicks hatch and interact with them.
We created a space enmeshed in the trees to form our version of the woods, which we named The Enchanted Forest.
Here at Carmel Mountain Preschool, we are committed to the environment and the health of our students. We serve organic fruits and vegetables with every snack and have an on-site cook that strives to create healthy and nutritious appealing snacks. We also help offset our energy consumption by utilizing our solar panels.
This garden has been a passion project for our founder, Pauline Condrick, since Carmel Mountain Preschool opened in 1983. As a lover of gardens, Pauline made it her mission to fill the campus with gardens, flowers, and greenery for all to enjoy.
Our wonderful Glenn is home to both the Art Studio, the Nature Lab, and Tinker Hollow which can be seen just as one ascends the stairs into this magical little paradise.
The Glenn has multiple garden beds where the preschoolers get the opportunity to learn about how to grow their own food.
We built the CMP grass slide because first of all, it is a ton of fun. You can hear the whoops and hollers of joy across campus from both students and teachers anytime anyone is on the sledding hill. Not only is it a blast, but our sledding hill provides preschoolers of all ages the ability to enhance their gross motor skills with their big body movements.
Carmel Mountain Preschool is a magical place especially for toddlers and preschoolers. We have created some very special spaces that really allow our children to explore and learn through movement. The Musical Garden is filled with instruments set up in a natural loop on a slope so the children can run around from each instrument to play.
The Nature Lab serves as a home base for conducting life science activities. The children learn through planned, hands-on activities and observations.
We spend time in the Nature Science Lab studying and caring for our creature friends including our collection of animals.
The Orchard Offices feature a total of six office spaces available for use by CMP staff and parents. Each office is named after one of the many fruit trees we have growing in the Orchard. We have the Fig Office, Avocado Office, Macadamia Office, Peach Office, Cherry Office, and Apple Office.
To help us make you feel at home we have created an Organic Coffee & Tea Bar at Carmel Mountain Preschool that is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 1:00pm. You are welcome to come serve yourself some yummy organic coffee, organic tea or organic fresh fruit anytime our Organic Coffee & Tea Bar is open.
We believe it’s important to teach our future generation, aka our preschoolers, about both healthy eating and taking care of our Earth. We built the organic sustainable farm with the intention of being able to serve all 350+ Carmel Mountain Preschool students two snacks a day with the organic fruits and vegetables that we will be growing.
Our nine outdoor learning decks are the perfect place for our preschoolers to do any of their indoor activities out in the open air. CMP preschoolers love to eat their lunch and do other preschool activities while surrounded by nature.
Our outdoor kitchen area was built with children’s nutrition in mind. CMP kids are able to go to the farm, pick their organic vegetables, and create meals with their class in this brand new kitchen area. It is complete with a prep area, two sinks, a grill, stove, and pizza oven.
Carmel Mountain Preschool is located on three lush acres with three separate playgrounds that are customized for the age group they serve.
We also have our Soccer field & Lower Grassy area for games, sports, & events.
Named after our founder, Dan Condrick, Poppo’s Orchard sits on one acre of land. There is a series of rosemary lined switchbacks filled with a variety of trees: persimmon, apricot, plum, avocado, peach, cherry, macadamia nut, mulberry, loquat, fig, pomegranate, apple, and nectarine.
Tinkering is tucked away in the northwest corner of The Glenn. Surrounded and beautiful passion fruit vines and filled with imagination, Tinkering is a wondrous environment for preschoolers to develop fine motor skills and explore new avenues of critical thinking.
A primary focus at Carmel Mountain Preschool is promoting overall health and wellness. To assist in this, we dedicated a space overlooking the Enchanted Forest that is able to comfortably hold yoga and dance classes for both children and families.
Events such as sound bathing, yoga, parent education courses, conscious discipline courses, art, gardening, and cooking classes are available not only to families of CMP but to the community for free throughout the school year.
The Zen Garden is a peaceful space tucked away behind Nature Lab under a beautiful shady tree. It is composed of two tiers filled with river rock that the children are able to walk on, lay on, and build with.
