Explore, collect, and create.
When a child observes nature they will see much more than we see.
Every lizard, every bug, they will want to smell all the flowers and feel all the textures because it is still new to them. Let’s continue to nurture our child’s appreciation for the natural world.
This activity is simple, all you need are cut cardboard rectangles and rubber bands to weave your items from nature into.
A FEW BENEFITS OF WEAVING WITH YOUNG CHILDREN:

- strengthens the muscles used in pincer grip
- physical experience of spatial concepts of up, over, and under
- helps in using both the dominant and non-dominant hands at the same time
- weaving involves crossing the midline
