Materials
- “Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcake by Kimberly and James Dean
- Yellow, brown, and pink paint
- Brown and white construction paper
This is a fun way to revisit your Pete the Cat read aloud. For younger children, cut the white paper into a a cupcake shape. For older kids, they can cut out their own cupcake shape. Also, cut the brown paper into a rectangle for the bottom of the cupcake.
Then, glue the top of the cupcake to the bottom and have your kids pick their favorite “flavor” and “frost” their cupcake.
Once the cupcake is frosted, and sprinkles for a finishing touch! Adding sprinkles is a great way for kids to use fine motor and gross motor skills.
